Load board
PROJECT OVERVIEW
The LoadBoard project focused on building a web-based load marketplace within the Power application, aimed at giving vendors the ability to view, search, and request available loads by lane. The primary goals were to reduce the cost of sale and increase IMCNA’s margins by improving vendor self-service and load visibility.
PROCESS
I partnered closely with the Ordering Process (SWS) team and the development team to define the MVP requirements and technical approach for LoadBoard.
The process included:
Conducting a competitive analysis of DAT, 123 LoadBoard, and Trucker Path to identify user experience patterns that make load searching and bidding efficient.
Designing a streamlined LoadBoard interface with fast search, filter, and bid functionality, using AG Grid for scalable and responsive data handling.
Defining the backend and API needs with the Ordering Process team to ensure smooth load posting, bid submissions, rate updates, and award handling.
Implementing a User Announcement Inbox to improve vendor communication without relying on email or external messages.
Updating the FAQ section to enable vendors to find answers independently, reducing support touchpoints.
INVOLVEMENT
I led theI led the project and the user experience design, working cross-functionally with the Ordering Process (SWS) team and development team to translate business needs into an actionable, scalable solution.
My involvement included:
Researching and adapting best practices from industry leaders (DAT, 123 LoadBoard, Trucker Path) to design a system that felt intuitive and minimized training time.
Designing all key user flows — including searching, filtering, bidding, and confirmation messaging — to be fast, familiar, and reliable.
Creating UI prototypes that matched vendor expectations while aligning with IMC’s internal systems.
Collaborating with developers to integrate the LoadBoard seamlessly into the Power and SWS ecosystems.
